Three have been built with similar hulls but different arrangement plans and equipment. All are USCG inspected vessels certified under subchapter T. The first of these was built for the Shoals Marine Lab of Cornell U. It is powered by a single Yanmar diesel turning a Hamilton jet. The second and third which were built for Michigan Technological U., and U CONN, are powered by twin Volvo diesels. All three have a top speed in the 26 knot range with cruise speeds in the low 20’s.
