The 24 foot flat bottomed R/V shown in the photographs is arguably one of the most completely instrumented boats of its size around. The bottom photo shows it lifting a current flow measurement instrument in the Buffalo River where data is being collected. The flat bottom was chosen in the interests of shoal draft. The bottom configuration is much the same as the Quinby boat pictured above except that the hull has a blunt bow for increased buoyancy forward.
